This course is designed for first-year master’s students in the English Department, specializing in Linguistics (LC) and Language Sciences (LS). It aims to provide students with a deep understanding of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and how they can be applied in fields related to English studies, such as education, linguistic research, and translation. The course explores the fundamental concepts of ICT, its tools, and their importance in developing and enhancing English language skills and their applications in different contexts. Students will learn how ICT enhances communication, data management, and problem-solving in various domains. The course also focuses on emerging trends in ICT, including cloud computing, cybersecurity, and the Internet of Things (IoT), equipping students with practical skills to use these tools in their professional and academic lives.

This course introduces and discusses approaches, strategies, and data collection methods relating to research in social
sciences. Students will consider how to select the appropriate methodology for use in a study to be performed.
Additionally, these students will learn how to collect data based on different data collection methods, construct these
tools, and pilot them before they become ready for use. Finally, this course elucidates the requirements for an academic
work, considering aspects related to language, writing style, and lay-out. To culminate this final stage, students will
learn to write a comprehensive research proposal that may be conducted in the future.

This course is designed for master's students specializing in language studies, providing an in-depth exploration of translation theories, practices, and challenges. It aims to equip students with advanced skills in translating texts across various genres, including literary, technical, legal, and academic documents, while emphasizing the importance of cultural and contextual considerations.
Students will learn about the principles of translation, different translation strategies, and the ethical dimensions involved in the translation process. The course will cover both practical translation tasks and theoretical aspects, such as the role of the translator, equivalence, fidelity, and the influence of cultural norms on translation choices. Through hands-on translation exercises, peer reviews, and case studies, students will develop the ability to produce accurate, culturally sensitive translations.
