This module is intended for university students, particularly in their second year of the LMD program, and consists of lectures on drugs and society.
It aims to analyze the social and economic effects of drug abuse globally and propose coordinated prevention and control strategies. The content covers narcotic
drugs, psychotropic substances, and other addictive substances like alcohol and tobacco. Organized into four units, it first outlines the drug production and distribution
sequence, including economic implications. The second unit addresses the social impacts of drug abuse on families, health, and employment. The third unit explores
the relationship between drug abuse and development, focusing on initiatives in developing nations and alternative strategies for communities involved in the illegal
drug trade. The final unit summarizes key points and offers recommendations to enhance global initiatives addressing drug abuse.
