This module provides an introduction to the English language. The module specifically focuses on English vocabulary and grammar, which are intended to challenge the students to ask questions about their social world and to explore their individual and cultural experiences within a wider context. In particular, students are encouraged to examine their common-sense assumptions by 'thinking sociologically'.
This module will help to remind the students of what they already know. The module will also give them some rules for grammar and sentence patterns that will help them become better writers. Finally, the students will have opportunities to put into practice what they have reviewed and learned in the module.
